D2L: Ode to Mayberry

This is about a 9 minute podcast where I review some of the open-ended written comments about D2L in the MnSCU I.T. survey for faculty. You might want to put on your headphones, unless it is okay to have some fun at work.

Added in 2022: Apparently I didn't think this was good enough to be part of the Desire2Podcast series. Looking back from 16 years later, it's some of my finest work. (LOL)

I was surprised by the amount of comments about email problems or issues with the tool. What version of the email system is MnSCU using? Sounds like it might be an integration piece rather than the "internal" one (D2L term not ours), not much you can do with an integration piece.

Are the MnSCU sites hosted at your location or at the D2L hosting facility? Listening to your cast, it (speed issue and time to load) is not a D2L thing. Currently we have no concerns as we are not experiencing any issues of load time, even with large class sizes. But we are contemplating moving to our own hardware.

It’s interesting that many comments are not geared to the actual software but around the implementation of it. We had the same problem on our end.
